Dr. Ongur has particularly strong academic, professional and institutional ties with Italy. 

She completed a Master’s Degree at the University of Bologna, Italy, one of Europe’s oldest and most internationally recognized universities, and subsequently pursued further postgraduate studies at the Collegio Europeo di Parma, strengthening her academic background in European and international law.

Her connection with Italy extends well beyond her academic education. As a Board Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she is actively involved in the institutional and business environment supporting trade, investment and economic relations between Italy and Türkiye.

Over the course of her professional career, Dr. Ongur has advised Italian companies, entrepreneurs and investors on establishing businesses, structuring investments, negotiating commercial transactions and resolving disputes in Türkiye.

Her fluency in Italian, together with her understanding of Turkish and Italian business cultures and her extensive legal experience, enables her to act as an effective bridge between Italian investors and the Turkish legal and investment environment.

In May 2026, she presented on “Trade, Investment and Arbitration between Italy and Türkiye” at LUMSA University in Rome, addressing bilateral investment relations, international arbitration and the legal framework applicable to cross-border business between the two countries.
